As a Houston Photographer, my specialty is newborn babies! From the top of their sweet smelling heads all the way down to their tiny toes, I adore every aspect of baby portraiture. Working with your fresh new cherubs fills my heart with such joy! I look forward to each and every single session. 

For my time with this impeccable and handsome little guy, I designed a custom sesson reflecting his mother's favorite colors: grey, tan, navy, and brown. These are perfect for a baby boy nursery! They're timeless. His sweet features are simply beautiful; I chose to utilize minimal props to ensure nothing distracts from his face.

At Sarah Borchgrevink Photography, all of your sessions come with 2-3 floor props, depending on how baby does. For instance, some babies sleep better than others. For parents who follow the prep guide I send, you're sure to have at least 2 floor items. Floor props are especially fun to use because they add interest to your photos; the bean bag posing is about show baby being very curly. The prop shots, such as a the rustic crate, antique bucket or even a bowl, are often used showcase all that is stunning about newborn photography.

A stunning location and perfect evening natural light are the keys to a successful maternity session. You see, as a Houston photographer, I specialize in documenting beautiful baby bumps for expecting couples and mothers to be. While I am based in Cypress, a suburb in Northwest Houston, I serve the greater Houston metro area and offer a plethora of locations to suit your tastes. For instance, this location is called the waterfall on my location list I provide to you. The unique stone entry and natural setting provide an organic tone to your maternity portrait session.

My sweet, dear friend looks amazing! She is full of grace and love as she awaits to meet her baby boy. I love the way the sun gently surrounds her and adds the warmth of golden light. Natural light truly is special. There's nothing like it.

Houston Newborn Photographer, Sarah Borchgrevink, specializes in custom posed newborn & family portraiture. She serves Houston as well as the surrounding suburbs.

A brand new baby. As a Houston Newborn Photographer, this makes my heart soar. Photographing the most tiny of clients is truly a joy. The details, styling, and spending the morning  cuddling a sweet little baby is one of my favorite aspects of baby photography. The customized sessions cater to parents seeking a variety of colors, poses, and props. For example, for this cherub's session, we used navy blue, tan, grey and cream. I provide everything you need, except the baby. This includes vintage floor props such as buckets, bowls, or crates. I also provide the wooden floors you see and backdrops to ensure the final product is coheisve with the work you see in my portfolio. I also have a vast array of bonnets, headbands, and organic wraps to adorn you baby's face. While props are minimal, such as the set ups seen here, they are also classic. 40 years from now you want the images to still have timeless yet soulful feeling.

For my time with baby boy, he loved to be wrapped! The wrapping is pretty nifty because it reminds you baby of being in the womb; it helps them "curl" up and feel safe during our session. For 9 months, your baby grew in your belly, so this reminds them of all that they know. A warm room and full tummy makes baby happy, too! This little guy did make me work, though I am very happy with his portraits as they're vintage, rustic, and the light fills his face to highlight his chubby cheeks, button nose, and little lashes.

For the family portion of his newborn session, his parents chose to not participate, so our focus was sibling with baby. While I do include family images in all of my collections I offer, I also understand sometimes parents may not feel photo ready. No worries! That just means more newborn portraits for you. Regardless, I do encourage sibling shots at the very least. Big Brother simply stole my heart! During the session, he sat with me while I posed little brother; he told me all about his teachers at pre-school and we sang some fun songs together, like "The Wheels on the Bus," haha! Big sister told me all about her soccer games and how her team won a game that past weekend. Meeting these sweet children was truly an honor and my heart melted while working with them. The innocence of them is simply pure.
