Fully Inclusive Packages & Pricing

As a full time business owner, and Mom to four young children, being transparent and making things easy for parents is the heart of my business. At SBP, packages are one flat rate for the entire session. This includes session design, props, time and talent as well as allotted coverage, retouching, proofing, the preparation of your final gallery, and a stunning full resolution digital gallery of non-watermarked images you may print as many times as you like. A list of three free cloud storage recommendations and consumer grade labs are also given so you’re sure to know how to safely archive your photos. Two Week Turnaround Time for Proofing

• There are no in person sales appointments, separate session fees, or minimum print orders to receive your digital files. Instead, you have a proofing gallery you view from the comfort of your home, couch, or even with family members. You’ll select your favorite images and have the option to add more images if you’d like though there is no obligation to do so. If you would like professional prints and heirloom products these are available through your gallery, though just like upgrading to additional digital files there is no obligation to do so. Soft proofing is my method of choice for previewing images and what many clients relay they prefer.

Everything is provided

Everything for your sweet cherub is provided. This includes hundreds and hundreds of props such as gorgeous bonnets, headbands, dainty outfits, backdrops, buckets, bowls, baskets, wraps, and more! Simply bring your little one’s diaper bag and leave the rest to me. A styling questionnaire ensures your favorite colors make an appearance, though everything will be cohesive and match the vintage-inspired, dreamy, rustic, and timeless brand of Sarah Borchgrevink Photography. Your gallery will stand the test of time and be amazing even 30 years from now.

Please look through my Houston Newborn Photography Galleries to ensure we’re a good fit for one another! It is best you select someone who props and poses make your heart swoon. Your baby will only be brand new for a few weeks and you generally have one chance to have these images.

Classic, Timeless, and Natural Baby Photography

SBP is a traditional posed newborn photographer (Ranked Best Houston Newborn Photographers 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019) and is known for simple, natural, and vintage-inspired baby portraits with non-distracting props and themes to artfully preserve Baby as a brand new bundle of joy. Cozy wrapping, bean bag posing, and stunning macro images are the heart of the styling. If you are a fan of simplistic, stylish, and classic session designs than I’m the photographer or you. Parent, family, and sibling images are also available.

Booking

To book your appointment with Sarah, it is best to do so in advance. There are a limited amount of appointments per month to ensure every client has availability for their session. By signing your contract & fulfilling your contract, preferably in the second or third trimester, you have access and priority to the scheduling & booking calendar first.

Once your baby is born, you will pick your session date & time as soon as possible. I like you to visit in the first 14 days if possible with 5-9 days being my absolute favorite sessions. Earlier is best. New babies are best photographed as they move less, sleep better, are more curly, have less baby acne, etc. Top newborn safety soothing techniques are used throughout the entire session.

Updated Newborn Options with Appointments Available to 40 Days Fresh

Hey, friends! Howdy to you! Today’s blog post is super awesome because I am sharing a new option available to my precious cherub clients here at SBP. Newborn sessions are now available to earth-side arrivals up to 40 days fresh! I even had a 55 day old baby boy recently and it went well, too, so this has taught me a little flexibility. Up until now, I specifically focused on little ones who are 14 days or newer, as this is the industry standard in the world of fine art, posed infant photography. While I still believe that 5-9 days is the best time to bring Baby to my studio, I am able to modify sessions, catering to babies who missed the traditional 14 day window.

What changed my mind?

As one of the highest and best rated portrait artists in Houston, newborn safety and awareness is a huge part of my excellent customer service. You see, in general, newborns are sleepier, curlier, and are more mold-able when they’re less than two weeks old. There are certain poses that need to be avoided with older babies, but for every pose one should avoid, there is also the opportunity to do new creative, unique, and gorgeous of a brand new baby. Working with older newborns has taught me to think outside the box, to try new set ups and floor props, and also to amp up my macro photography game, which are the darling details of your baby’s precious features.

Also, parents are human. Unless they’re a photographer themselves, they probably do not know how soon after birth parents visit my fully stocked baby portrait studio. However, I’ve been experimenting with taking older babies as sometimes parents aren’t aware how early you have to book your newborn session. Furthermore, sometimes parents miss the two week window to schedule. Newborn sessions can be modified to reflect the age of an older baby.

There are certain poses,such as froggie, also known as chin in hand pose, you will not achieve with an older newborn, such as 40 days, but there are some really neat, unique, and spectacular galleries that can still be achieved!

We can use texture, backgrounds, cozy wrapping, breathtaking macros, and family images, too, along with adorable parent and baby set ups to achieve a very diverse, special gallery you’re sure to treasure for years. A newborn session is an investment though it is one you’ll have forever, and one you’ll never regret making.

Extensive experience

Each month, I photograph around 22 babies in addition to the maternity, family, and baby milestone sessions I also document. This means I work with over 240 new additions each year. To date, I’ve photographed over 900 newborns and counting! They are my specialty. This in mind, I am now comfortable taking older sessions because I have been quietly accepting older little ones over the past 3 months.

Which packages are available to which ages?

At SBP, there are four fully inclusive options for parents to consider. The wrapped mini is specifically available to 40 days, however, the bean bag mini, petite, and full sessions are now available up to 24 days, too. That’s 10 days longer than my current cut off of 14 days. These packages cater to different budgets in order to offer affordable options to new parents and couples in the Greater Houston area. Sample Images of Babies After 14 Days

When these precious babies visited my studio, I specifically took their sessions a little unsure what was going to happen; after all, the newer baby is the “better” the session typically goes. However, I took a laid back approach and told myself to focus on keeping them safe, cozy, and content. Both parents had ample food on hand for them, as they are both much older than I typically schedule, but we ended up having beautiful galleries!

This little guy, for example, is 55 days old (wow!!!) and even at this age he did great! See his full gallery here. This in mind, his parents chose the “petite” newborn collection, so we focused on macro details, wrapping, floor props, and family photos. I did try to pose him in the naked bean bag images, but he was no longer limber. This does not mean, however, you cannot have a sweet session! I am truly excited to offer sessions to parents because while I am a full time photographer, I also have four kiddos of my own and understand how meaningful the portraits are. You will treasure these forever and pass them down to your baby when they’re grown. A custom newborn session is the ultimate investment as it’s truly an heirloom.

He also had an older sister named Mia who was such a rockstar and dream to photograph! His session was truly stunning and he was such a precious little fella!

Featured Natural Light, Outdoor Maternity Session for the Month of June.

Howdy, friends! Today's blog post is all about my favorite pregnancy portraits from the month of June. Ashley and Justin's photo shoot took place in northwest Houston during sunset. It also happened to be Ashley's birthday so it was a fun way to celebrate her that day! Cozy up and get comfy to see highlights from their session + for a little q&a. 

How did you two meet?

We went to rival high schools, but we met in church when we were 15 on the Fourth of July. Later that summer, on Labor Day, we went bowling and started "going out". We've pretty much been together ever since. By the time the baby arrives, we will have been together 19 years (10 years of dating; 9 years of marriage)!

What is a favorite color in Baby's nursery?

The nursery is a monochromatic safari theme, but we did an accent wall in Sherwin Williams Outerspace. It's this dark, dark grayish blue. It's nice because it's a masculine color but it's also very soothing.

What was the first thing Dad did when you two found out you're expecting?

It's hard to remember! It was a shock. Long story short, prior to getting pregnant, we were told I was in premature ovarian failure, and the chances of us conceiving with my eggs was around 5%. We were actually gearing up to start an IVF cycle at the time I found out I was pregnant. It was a BIG but HAPPY surprise. Hopefully Baby Boy won't be our last, but he is definitely our little miracle!

What is Baby's due date?

August 16th

Any pregnancy cravings? Favorite meal?

I like to have vegetarian sushi or the Airstream Salad from Torchy's for lunch. Those are my GOOD cravings. But my most consistent, longest running craving is ice cream. We go to a lot of Astros games, and if you can't have a cold IPA, Bluebell in a cone is the next best thing :) I seriously eat ice cream almost every day. I think it's how I'm surviving the summer heat.

What are you most excited about in terms of being a mom?

To see different traits from my husband, Justin, and myself in our baby. I remember thinking I was nothing like my parents growing up, and now I see parts of my mom and dad's personalities reflected in me ALL the time. And to see his unique personality, what he likes, how he thinks.

Any fur siblings?

We have 2 Toy Australian Shepherds; Rookie, our male that's 2, and Pip, our female that's almost 1. Her birthday is 3 days before the baby's due date, so hopefully she doesn't have to share her special day :)

 What's the first thing you bought for baby?

It's kind of a strange purchase, but I bought these animal prints that I knew I wanted for the nursery. They are gender-neutral, so whether it was a boy or girl, I knew they would work. It was kind of a celebratory purchase once we made it to the 11 week mark and felt we could breathe a little easier.

Do you have any nicknames for your baby bump?

 Since we haven't decided on baby's name just yet, we have quite a few, but probably the funniest nickname came from our niece. She just turned 7, and is really into martial arts / karate, so she watches lots of that stuff on YouTube. From pretty early on, she has called the baby "John Cena". She says if we name him that, he will be the strongest baby in the world. It's kind of hard to argue with that logic! But it's stuck, it's a joke in our family now.
