Outdoor maternity shoot & Photography Houston Packages & RATES
All outdoor maternity shoots are fully inclusive, meaning you select a package with a set number of professionally edited full-resolution JPEG digital files + a print release. These are one flat rate, including time, talent, session design, editing of your images, and the preparation and rendering of your full-resolution, professionally enhanced JPEG digital gallery available for instant download. The photos are yours to share with your special loved ones and print as many times as you would like. A reputable list of printing labs is provided, so you will have great options and ideas when displaying your session! Clients may select from the following options, including full-resolution digital files at one flat rate. Expect to spend about 45 - 60 minutes together for outdoor, natural light sessions, depending on which package you select.
“The Simple” Family, Maternity, Breastfeeding, or Motherhood Portraits | $850 + tax includes 45 minutes of studio time. Your spouse and children are included in addition to the motherhood wardrobe. Your choice of 15 full-resolution, professionally edited digital files (+ matching black/white edits) is delivered via instant digital download. Two gowns of your choice are included. This package is ideal for parents who would like more variety or have children who take longer to warm up to the camera.
“The Classic” Family, Maternity, Breastfeeding, or Motherhood Portraits | $950 + tax includes 60 minutes of studio time. Your spouse and children are included in addition to the motherhood wardrobe. Your choice of 25 full-resolution, professionally edited digital files (+ matching black/white edits) is delivered via instant digital download. Three gowns of your choice are included. This package is ideal for parents who would like to see several different setups and posed, candid, natural, and suitable if you’re bringing a pet to your session. The additional time allows for more variety.
OPTION TO ADD AIRBRUSH MAKEUP AND ARTISTRY TO ALL PORTRAIT PACKAGES
The studio has partnered with a top-notch professional hair styling and airbrush makeup artist, Annie Williams. Services are available as an add-on to all portrait packages. Our preferred vendor provides on-location services at our studio or, if you prefer, your home.
When is the ideal time to book YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOS?
The best time to book your outdoor maternity shoot is when you're in the second trimester, typically around 20 weeks. Doing so offers plenty of dates from which you'll select. We'll schedule a gown fitting so you may browse the studio wardrobe. We will also chat about airbrush hair and makeup add-on if this interests you.
28 - 34 weeks is the perfect time to photograph your pregnancy portraits as you have a cute baby bump. However, if you’re carrying twins, we may adjust based on due dates and circumstances surrounding your pregnancy.
However, you're still comfortable enough to walk, pose, and spend up to 60 minutes in the Houston heat. Moreover, the preferred timeframe gives you time to display your images in the nursery and at your baby shower.
All maternity sessions are booked by appointment only. Weekends fill quickly, so the earlier you inquire, the more likely you will have your preferred dates. Our outdoor, natural light maternity photoshoots occur at sunrise or 30 minutes before sunset.
Our turnaround time for your proofing is 14 days, year-round. Should you be interested in displaying the images at your baby shower, this is another factor to consider when booking. It's best to give yourself 3-4 extra weeks to order and display prints if this is the focus of your baby shower.

We offer ten outdoor appointments per month. Each parent receives three dates they select; one is set for our photography session, and then you’re offered two separate dates in case of emergencies, poor weather, illness, or something outside your control. If weekends are your preference, please consider booking as early as possible. All outdoor sessions are at sunrise or 30 minutes before sunset.

Your pregnancy is an exciting time; your heart is filled with joy as you prepare to meet the greatest love of your life: your child. The unconditional bond, the soft kicking of their feet - you feel it all. Preserving this memory is a beautiful way to celebrate your baby bump. There will be a time when the pitter-pattering of small feet has ceased to echo, and you will need a long to feel your belly swell. It's bittersweet, though. A timeless maternity session will always preserve this beautiful time before your little love enters the world.

The studio offers a client closet you may utilize for any of your photoshoots. A studio wardrobe is included in all packages for your use.
Motherhood wardrobe features close to 200 dresses in sizes small through 2XL.
For Dad, a small wardrobe features shirts and sweaters for your use in sizes small-large.
For brothers, shirts and sweaters are also available.
Sister's wardrobe features adorable dresses and simple tops.
Infant wardrobe for both girls and boys is available from newborn - to 24 months.
Please stick to neutrals, earth tones, and muted colors for siblings and Dad. Dad and Brother should wear jeans or khaki pants, and we can add a studio shirt if you wish. If you're bringing clothing from home, Avoid neon colors. Orange, yellow, bright greens or pinks are not favorable. The colors that photograph well are light grey, tans, creams, white, and ivory. Seafoam, navy, mauve, and colors are lovely, too! Earthtones are beautiful because they photograph well on skin tone; they refer to natural colors such as brown soil, green leaf, cloudy sky, and red sun. Examples of earth tones we love to see are rust, marigold, deep navy, burnt sienna brown, terracotta, sage, turmeric, hunter green, and more.
Ideas for Dad: simple button-up, henley shirt, sweater, v-neck, anything without a distracting pattern or neon colors. Slacks, dark wash jeans, and simple ones are best.
Children look lovely in knits, simple cotton dresses, sweaters, jeans, or khaki pants with a solid or neutral-colored top.
Expect to see various tones, textures, and fabrics, all of which are curated to photograph beautifully. We offer diverse options such as, but not limited to, neutrals, grey, ivory, creams, whites, and muted colors and nudes, although there are colorful options. Jewel tones and classic black make an appearance, too. Complimentary gown fittings are welcome. These are available in sizes small through extra-large. An ample sister wardrobe is a new addition, also! Available in sizes three months - 8-T. At this time, our closet includes over 200 dresses. We also offer complimentary gown fittings, so you may visit in advance to look throughout the client's wardrobe. We also have a handful of Dad tops in case of emergencies, though, upon booking, a prep guide is provided. Hence, you have a great idea of what Dad should wear for his portion of the photo shoot. Your spousE/PARTNER and children are welcome
At Sarah Borchgrevink Photography, immediate family members are included in all outdoor maternity/pregnancy photoshoot sessions. For example, this includes your spouse, partner, or significant other, as well as your precious little ones. Maternity sessions can be treated as a couples session if this is your first pregnancy. If, however, we focus on family bonds and connections if you have other children. For instance, we include combinations such as Mom with the children, Dad with the children (or your significant other/partner). We also like to cover group photos of children, individual images of the children, and Mom and Partner together. Finally, we spend time photographing Mom and the baby bump solo. If you would like the session to showcase baby bump only, that's an option, too! Several setups are included, also, for a well rounded, gorgeous gallery! Furbabies, of course, are welcome, too!

Where to take PREGNANCY pictures in Houston?
Our maternity sessions predominantly take place at the following locations during the hours of sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset.
The Houston Arboretum (sunrise and sunset)
Eleanor Tinsley Park (sunrise only)
As professional photographers, we focus on a few lovely locations to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for mothers-to-be, expecting couples, and growing families. By utilizing 5-7 different location options, we learn the light and permit photograph sessions in the designated location. In a city as vast as Houston, we're also experiencing large amounts of construction, so the sites we select are currently stable and not at risk of being removed. We do our best to update our location list regularly. If there is a particular location you're interested in using, please feel free to contact us. Per our portraiture agreement, clients are responsible for obtaining permits for sites outside of our standard options.
2020 Rural location Options in Houston suburbs
The fir tree field is currently my favorite rural location to bring expecting mothers! This is quietly tucked away in Cypress, though you would never expect it could have such fantastic light unless you’re a photographer! This location looks wonderful year-round, mainly because Houston is such a green city (fall colors just are not autumnal hues here, unfortunately). This fir tree field is timeless and fantastic for first-time parents or even families with little ones!
This particular location looks best in the evening as the sun dips below the horizon. It offers a variety of greenery, from lush grass evergreen trees, and oaks. The client featured here is one of my long time and favorite families! They’re expecting their third baby boy in just a few months, so I looked for someone lovely just for them!
The fir tree grove is quiet and unassuming, so there’s little traffic, and it makes for a fun experience for little ones since there are zero distractions. We cozy up on a vintage quilt and enjoy being with one another. The light is breathtaking and ethereal!
This location is a must-have, and I hope you enjoy this one just as much as I!
what to expect: golden hour family/maternity session
Update: as of August 2018, this location is available to Townelakes Residents only. The neighborhood no longer allows photography sessions for those who do not reside in the community. Here you'll find stunning light, a natural vibe, as well as beautiful foliage year-round. This location is available Monday - Friday and ideally looks best in the evening light. Moreover, at the 'waterfall,' you'll find a unique stone entry, as well as a field, which offers variety to your gallery
For example, the 'creek' location also feels small and intimate. Having professional portraits taken may seem daunting.
However, by selecting natural sites to utilize, you'll find yourself at ease and genuinely excited to have your belly documented! Because Houston is green most of the year, this is an attractive option for parents to be. Our branding is timeless, classic, and all things dreamy, so our preferred locations reflect our style.
The 'Coles Crossing' location is also a favorite because it's located in NW Houston, specifically near 290/Telge by Cypress. This location features golden, ethereal light and looks best in the evening, which works perfectly since many mothers consider professional hair and makeup services. This location is also timeless as never is distracting from the main subject: your growing belly
