Grayson at 6 Days New | Welcome to the world

Handsome Grayson visited my Houston newborn studio when he was 6 days fresh and new! This is the ideal time for a baby's first portraiture session in terms of professional photography preferences. From the moment he arrived, he slept peacefully and truly was a joy to photograph! Upon arrival, his session was set up and ready to go to ensure his parents had a seamless, smooth experience.

As a mommy to 4 kiddos, I know leaving the house for the first time is a little daunting, so I make sure your time in the studio is well spent. This is achieved by utilizing a styling questionnaire for your little one. The posed newborn design begins with your preferences; you also have the opportunity to request specific props or setups you've seen via my blog or newborn galleries. In this case, for example, his parents asked for the adorable brown bear newborn hat prop that I have on hand. I also have one in cream, too, for neutral lovers!

The brown bear hat is especially cute! It's made with the softest materials and even has a precious matching teddy bear, too! I pride myself on being the Best Houston Newborn Photographer because I take the time to listen to your vision and add my own twist to create both breathtaking and stunning newborn images. 

After the adorable baby bear + matching stuffed animal set took place, we focused on darling yet cozy wrapping, as his parents requested a fully wrapped session. These sessions are absolutely awesome because they're a little more modest yet also modern. At the same time, the wrapping is done in a timeless, classic manner and styled with my vintage props so they fit the brand.

Here are some of my favorite images from my time with Grayson. He was the sweetest little guy in the studio that week and I am honored to have captured these photos for his parents. There are few things as precious as a brand new, fresh baby. When the little ones come to my studio, located in Houston TX, it truly is the best part of my day! When you arrive, your session is already set up; your color preferences are kept in mind. Everything is provided - all you do is bring your baby.

• Newborn sessions take place when your little one is just around a week old. My favorite time, and where I've had the most success, is 5-8 days. However, I do offer appointments up to 14 days old.

• Most parents book their newborn collection in the second trimester, though there is something last minute availability if you call during the third trimester, too! Even if the baby is already earthside, I do encourage you to inquire because you never know if something opens up. Sometimes a baby is early, or even late, which means I may have a little flexibility on the calendar.

• You see, I take 15 due dates per month. Your due date is written on my calendar and ensures I do not take too many other dates around the same time frame. Once your baby is born, I ask you to notify me immediately. When the baby is earthside, you're sent 4 appointments from which you may select.

First Birthday Photos | Simple & Timeless

Your baby's first birthday photos are such a treat to photograph! Chances are if you've booked a collection at Sarah Borchgrevink Photography for your little one's first birthday, you're probably a baby plan membership client. These sessions are especially sweet since my most petite clients have been with me since they were newborns! 

KP, for instance, is the happiest kiddo on the block! At his newborn session, for instance, he was super laid back and easy going. At 5 pounds, he was an awesome sleeper and super curly. Then when we photographed his sitter session, he kept me laughing the entire time. Now, at 12 months old, we had a wonderful time in the studio for his splashing in the tub session!

These sessions are wonderful because they focus on baby milestone photography. What little baby could resist playing in bubbles? Moreover, these sessions use my favorite type of props: vintage, classic and timeless. The more classic and simple the photos are, the happier I am since my goal is to showcase your child as the star without distracting themes or too many busy props.
