Oh, Lola Grace! Your newborn session is absolutely sweet as can! At 8 days old, you're so precious from your button nose, full lips, and dark hair. This in mind, she looks marvelous upon soft textile colors such as a blush pink or a muted lavender. For my time with, I focused on simple posing to show off the curly nature of a newborn baby girl! 

I like to use a variety of wraps and tieback pieces for fresh, new babies. They add lovely texture to the images and also adorn baby beautifully. 

To end my time with this beautiful baby girl, we used one of my favorite floor props - this antique wooden box. The mint looks perfect on her because it contrasts so nicely with her perfect skin. A variety of camera angles makes each set up truly shine!

Ah, family portraits! I really enjoy these sessions. As a Houston photographer, I truly delight in photographing your family milestones such as a yearly updated family portraiture session. My sessions take place during golden hour when the light is most soft and diffused. The golden sunlight shines downward. I like to think the light is my paintbrush and handpicked, stunning locations are my canvas that I use to create timeless family heirlooms for you. 

For example, for my time with the beautiful G family we used a favorite park of mine in Cypress TX. It boasts lovely foliage, warm, golden light and also is general enough where the backgrounds are not distracting, but specific enough where the viewer enjoys the scenery that encompasses your family images. For family sessions, I present you with a cohesive and lovely collection of images. Think of it like a fashion line: every image has their place in the collection. Each piece is designed to hold it's weight and add diversity among the images while remaining cohesive. This is why, for instance, my sessions come with 15 high resolution digital downloads. The images are meant to be hung on your walls and grace the home as they honor and preserve this time in your life. They're not meant to hang out on a hard drive or disc for nobody to see. I promise you that quality over quantity is the best way to go when you're considering archival purposes. 

The session flow is super important! We always begin with family set ups first; afterwards we do set ups of Mom with the kiddos, dad with the kiddos, the kiddos together, and then individual portraits of each child. 

After your session with me, within two weeks you're presented with a stunning online, password protected gallery so you may select your images! A typical gallery offers around 40 to 50 different options. Once you select, I do the final edits and send a new gallery to you so you may instantly enjoy your images. I also offer a plethora of affordable professional products to ensure they're color matched and on the best paper available. The experience at Sarah Borchgrevink Photography is something I truly pride myself upon; a laid back and customer driven atmosphere makes for a seamless session as well as an enjoyable experience for the entire family.

As a Houston Newborn Portrait Photographer (and mama to three little girls!) nothing gives me more joy than spending time with your precious baby. I pride myself on providing stunning newborn images through the use of organic, hand picked textiles, a perfect environment for a new baby, and of course patience. Lots of patience! If you've ever been pregnant, you know that a baby cannot be rushed.

For my time with Henry, a handsome little lad, I designed a newborn session around the colors of his nursery, which are tan, brown, grey, green - hues of this nature. His sweet mama also pulled some personal items from the nursery such as a quilt that is a family heirloom. Pieces such as this add a special dynamic to your newborn gallery because they're unique, special, and just for you! 

Bonnets, wraps, and layers are a nice addition to styling the session because they grace baby and allow baby to shine by framing his face, or holding his legs in place so he looks extra curly - just like when he's in the womb growing.

Of course, if there are any special items such as college or sports teams, have no fear. If you lay them out for me, upon arrival I'll incorporate them into your session. I like to ensure you're happy with your newborn gallery and I am always excited to utilize your items to add just the special touch to your images.

All of my in home newborn sessions come with two floor props. This is one of my favorite wooden crates! It's perfect because baby can be tucked into bed with a special quilt or layered piece, and we can also add items from the nursery here such as the moose, hand-made quilt, and of course a bonnet or hat if needed. This prop is also lovely because if baby prefers being on his back he can be tucked in and if baby prefer's being on his tummy this can be done, too. The goal is for the session to be versatile and to show off baby from all angles.
