Greetings and good morning to you! I'm thrilled you're here at my blog. Please allow me to introduce a charming baby boy who recently visited my studio. J came to see me when he was around 9 days old. He slept beautifully for me and I could not help but be in awe of how precious his sweet little face is. When booking, his mama requested I style the session so it is timeless, classic, simple and sweet. This in mind, I kept the color scheme very neutral and pulled inspiration from all things soft and organic, such as white, cream and a little bit of grey. I even added a muted baby blue and very light brown with tan textures in order to add a tiny bit of pop to the portraits. 

During my time with J, he loved to be wrapped. This makes baby feel safe, secure and helps them sleep during the posing. My studio is also kept at 77 degrees or so. This mimicks the environbemnt of the womb. A full belly, lots of white noise and a warm room are the key to an adorable newborn session.

Don't you think the blue looks lovely on him? This hand knitted bonnet is made by one of my favorite vendors in Italy. She has precious creations that are perfect for your sessions. I adore using her props and designs.

And of course, here are my favorite family images. All collections do include family, parent and sibling images if you'd like to do so. J is the first little one so sibling was not applicable though we did focus on images of dad with baby, mom with baby, and of course this beautiful couple together. While getting in front of the camera may feel a little intimidating, please know I am here to guide you with outfit advice, plenty of positive praise during our posing and of course I make sure you feel comfortable being we begin the photo process.

Romantic Couples Houston Maternity Session

Howdy, friends! Good afternoon to you. I'm excited you're here and visiting my blog. Today is the fourth of July, which is a wonderful day in our fantastic country. However, my three little girls are all napping so I am at my desk catching up on a little bit of work such as the behind the scenes blogging. If you follow my portraiture work, you may know I specialize in newborn photography, however, I am taking a handful of maternity, family or child sessions here and there. These are available during limited times throughout the year.

Today's natural light, on location maternity session showcases an expecting couple in Houston. When they first came to my studio for their consult, I instantly knew they're a perfect fit. Meeting them, hearing about their sweet family and documenting their pregnancy is a complete joy! We opted for a sunset session at one of my favorite locations in NW Houston. :-) 

Anyway, baby is due in August and she'll be coming in for a full newborn session! Here are some of my favorite images from my time with this gorgeous couple. I hope you enjoy!

Greetings and good morning, friends! Thanks for visiting my blog. You see, the little 'ol blog is where many gorgeous babies grace my page as I showcase the highlights from their posed newborn sessions. However, I also preview a few baby bumps or family sessions here and there, too, to make sure things stay interesting, haha! However, today you're in luck: one of my super awesome baby plan membership clients are on the blog.

At this point, you may be scratching your head and thinking, "What's a baby plan membership?" A baby plan membership is simple: it's a package catering to clients seeking maternity, newborn and first year of life portraits of these incredibly special milestones in their lives. This includes celebrating your radiant baby bump, bringing home a new baby and also documenting the super awesome milestones such as baby sitting up and then of course their one year portraits.  In fact, you may remember this adorable couple from their outdoor maternity session, which took place in February. 

Today, I am honored to share my favorite images from K's studio newborn session. Her sweet parents brought her to my all white, organic space when she was 9 days new. She weighed just under 6 pounds and was so petite, dainty and curly! For my time with her, mama requested a feminine color scheme such as soft pinks, creams and a plethora of rose hues. While I do pull inspiration from your colors, I sometimes add my own twist, so later on we also used a hunter green. Green, you see, is my absolute favorite color to use with little girls, so keep on scrolling to see how gorgeous the sage also looked against her skin. :-) 

At this point, you also may be wondering, "So, what comes in a newborn session?" As you can see, we do a large variety with each baby. Aside from family/parent images, which take place first, I utilize many styles of wrapping to show off the curly, brand new nature of a little baby. Followed by this, I typically do 2 floors props, such as a rustic crate or an antique bucket. Then, after these set ups, we'll move into the naked posing with all the sweet, squishy poses. I do each and every session with the same flow so we may ensure your session reflects what you see in my portfolio. Consistency is of the utmost importance! Please note, however, I do offer a mini wrapped collection, petite or full posed, so the mini wrapped session does include wrapped shots and none of the naked images, but this is designed for parents who are seeking more modest newborn portraits, ha!

One aspect of newborn photography I truly enjoy is providing everything for your session. This ensures your images are timeless, classic and unique, so I will style baby to reflect custom set ups. This includes gorgeous headbands or tiebacks, organic textiles, professional lighting and of course post processing of your high resolution retouched digital files.
