Well, howdy to you! Thanks for stopping by the 'ol blog today. If you're here, you're in for a treat as I preview this incredibly handsome and dapper little fellow! As a Houston Newborn Photographer, I adore working with your fresh, new babies and styling them to reflect your home. Each session is a custom design based around your nursery color preferences, home decor, and personal tastes. I provide specific branding to ensure everyone is a good fit.

For this session, for instance, we focused on showcasing all that is beautiful for this little baby boy! Soft, muted blues, cool creams, and simply wraps show his curly details. We also utilized a rustic, vintage bucket and a antique cradle to tuck him into bed!

He's simply a stunning lad! Full lips, long fingers and a button nose had me swooning the entire session. 

And those rolls! This image is one of my favorite angles to show because the squish is just adorable on each and every newborn baby.

And when a baby smiles I feel like cheering! These are so special!

Good day to you! Thank you for stopping by my 'ol blog! This is where I preview the latest families, children, and precious newborn babies I document. I look forward to writing about your session and presenting the images! 

As you may have noticed, it does not feel like fall here in Houston but family photos are upon us! It's a busy time for photographers; autumn is to portrait artists as April is to an accountant - just a ton going on! But I welcome this time. I enjoy connecting with your families, coming to your home, meeting your little ones, and also seeing both new and old faces. It's a joy to see your children grow and your family hit new milestones such as expanding your family, moving to a new home, or welcoming a new pet. It's all part of your story and a lifestyle family session is the perfect way to show you as you are.

During our time together at Sarah Borchgrevink Photography, expect to have fun! Expect for things to be laid back and to enjoy yourself. This is partly why I do not offer mini sessions; I like for the experience to be one that cannot be done in 10 minutes. It's both custom and designed around the spirit of your family. This is just my personal philosophy when it comes to the sessions I offer. You receive up to 60 minutes of my time and talent when you book a family portraiture appointment. This means if we do the session in half an hour I pat myself on the back and think I must have done something awesome but if Baby needs a snack or Toddler needs a potty break there is no rush. It's relaxed. And it allows me to hang out with you! 

During your session I do give lots of direction but I also encourage you to be who you are. As a mom, you may have your favorite song you sing to your child. I'll have you hold baby, snuggle her, kiss her toes, hug your spouse - just be happy. Because at the end of the day, portraits are what preserve this time in our lives. These are tangible connections to the past and honor all that is sacred in our lives. I don't mean to sound like a cliche, but there will be a day when my little one's feet do not echo down the hall, the pitter patter will cease as they grow, and it makes me a little sad to think they won't be small forever. But in those moments, typically when my kiddos are tucked into bed and the house is still and I can breathe I open their photo albums. I touch the images on the walls. I find my heart filled with such peace seeing the images, holding them, feeling the weight of the smooth paper in my hands. And this is why I include digital files in all my sessions but *also* why I encourage you to consider professional heirloom products and archival paper. You've invested in stunning portrait photography. You want the photos to look just as nice on the walls as they do on that handy dandy Iphone or smart phone. I pinky promise!

Jeremy's Natural Newborn Session at 2 Weeks New | Houston Photographer

Ahhh! As a Houston Maternity and Newborn Photographer, few things bring me more joy than photographing a precious new baby boy. The process is very simple; I supply everything (but the baby) and you hang out and let me do the rest. For instance, for my time with this incredibly handsome little fellow, I designed a session reflecting his parents favorite colors such as blue, green, white, and a rustic bucket. This combination is lovely and is fantastic for a little boy!

Baby J slept beautifully for my time with him! He loved the warm room and full tummy almost as much as I adore him! But do not worry - all newborn sessions have the utmost safety and precision. They're typically around 3 hours to ensure baby is handled safely and plenty of time is given for nursing, diaper changes, soothing baby, and providing a loving environment for baby. Each pose can take 15-20 minutes to ensure each baby roll, pouty lip, and little legs are positioned just so.
