Good morning, y'all! Happy Tuesday and howdy! Thanks for stopping by my blog in which I showcase the absolutely breathtaking newborn portraits that I have the absolute honor of documenting. If this is your first time here, welcome! Today I'm showing a posed newborn session that took place in my studio, which is located in Northwest Houston. It's all white and dreamy and just the most wonderful place for baby portraiture. Every time I walk into my studio, I feel a sense of peace and cannot wait to get started. 

However, enough about me. Please allow me to introduce baby R to you. When Mama first inquired, baby was 2 weeks old. R and her sweet parents came to my studio for a posed session featuring mint, a vintage quilt and even a super cute mint bucket, wooden crate, and an adorable antique cradle. I really enjoy styling my baby sessions to reflect all things timeless and classic. I also love providing everything for your session. You simply arrive and it's all here, just for you. Here are some of my favorite portraits from my time with this family.

After the mint flokati rug, you see above, I moved baby to one of my favorite buckets, which is a soft mint, too. A classic knit hat adorns her beautiful face and her little hands are placed lovingly to reflect the softness of a new baby girl. 

All of my session also include macro images. Many times, when booking, parents ask what are macro portraits. These are simply the up close, special details of your little one, such as their eyelashes, profile, nose, lips, etc. This is what makes your baby unique and these are the aspects that you spend hours staring at as you nurse, rock, feed baby. Also, your macro images make you final gallery super awesome because they set your baby apart. No other baby in the entire world has the same profile as yours. It's kinda awesome, truly. Your baby is one of a kind. It's an honor to document this time for you.

Moreover, all of my sessions (mini, petite or full) include family photos. I cannot express how important it is you be in front of the camera with your precious baby. The newborn time is fleeting; before you know it, baby will be crawling, walking, etc., and this is a wonderful time to preserve the meaningful.

Hi there! Good morning! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. My name is Sarah and I'm a Houston Newborn Photographer. I specialize in baby portraits because the first few weeks of life are incredibly special and deserve to be preserved. Because I'm also a Mama to three little girls (Lucy, Emma and Amelia) I recognize all the important emotions and aspects of bringing home a new baby. My portraiture collections preserve the meaningful and are also fully inclusive: while I do include high end, luxury boutique prints & products in all collections, you also receive high resolution retouched digital files, too. We are in the modern age. This way, you walk away with the best of both worlds: digital files to archive your session and prints to grace the walls.

Please allow me to introduce this sweet family! When they came to my studio, baby was 8 pounds, nearly NINE, and so squishy and perfect. I wrapped him an organic, soft textile and spent some time photographing him with his parents; I also include photos of Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby and family, too! These are a joy to document, so while I am a newborn photographer, I also truly adore photographing your families. 

After family, I always focus on baby as baby is the star of the session! I do a large variety of posing, from wrapping, floor props, macro images, and lots of naked posing for parents who request this. I also offering a mini, petite, and full newborn session to fit a variety of budgets. If you are curious, this is a full newborn session, so you will see everything from macro details (which are the up close photos of toes, profile, lips, etc), floor props (usually 2) such as a bucket, crate, bowl, and then several naked poses that are curly and show the new nature of a newborn. :-)

Howdy and hi there! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend here in gorgeous Houston. The weather has been fantastic lately, and while I've been photographing many stunning newborns and families in studio, I also have been spending a lot of time outdoors with my own little ones, who you may have seen on my blog before. However, enough about me. :-) Let's talk about one of the latest precious baby girl's I had in my studio. Her session is lovely!

When you first arrive, we always do family first. Followed by this, we photograph the sibling portion. I always use my all white bed for this part. It's comfy, cozy and classic. It also makes for unique images since it's all about your family when we do these.

When Baby came to my studio, she was about 11 days old and 6 pounds. She was an absolute petite dream to work with and slept wonderfully during our time together. In the beginning, she was wide awake, but once I wrapped her, she settled nicely into her session.

Here are some of my favorite shots from our time together! I hope you enjoy viewing a little preview of her in studio, posed newborn session.

My favorite part of posed newborn photography is the custom aspect to each session; each session is a new design, color combination, and I always have new items on hand, too, such as bonnets, hats, wraps, backdrops, etc. I look forward to creating unique set ups for you though also ensuring they're timeless and classic. Simplicity makes my heart sing. By removing destracting items and focusing mainly on your baby and their brand new, curly nature, we're able to showcase the beauty of newborn photography. This includes showing off their sleepy nature, serene characteristics, and also the aspects that make your baby who she is, such as big stretches, yawns, and the way her feet curl upward.

With little girls, I L-O-V-E- to use green. It's one of my most favorite colors. I like teal a lot, too, though for this baby girl we used an awesome antique bucket and vintage quilt. Seriously - if you ever are looking for a vintage quilt, I use a vendor called "Stirched and Found". Her name is Hannah and she rocks. 

Oh, my goodness! Those long eyelashes, perfect fingers, and full lips. A profile image is DEFINITELY needed here. The floor prop shots are where I get creative with angles, too. I like to show all aspects of your baby, such as profile and macro images, which are the up close details or her face, hands, toes, ears, eyelashes, hair line, etc. These are the parts of her you spend hours gazing upon while nursing, rocking or feeding baby. These are the parts that are unique to your baby alone. 

We also did some super vibrant purple and raspberry colors. They compliment her skin and add a great deal of variety to the session.
