Good morning, gang! This post is informative because many parents ask, "What should my baby wear to their photo appointment with you, Sarah?" I have great news: all styling is provided by me. This means everything for the session is in my studio. I have many adorable props, such as bowls, buckets, baskets, flokati rugs, etc., all of which match my classic, timeless, dreamy, and rustic photography style. I adore all things vintage and antique; the heart of my newborn portraiture is timeless, so this styling feeds into my sessions for sitters, who are 6 months old, and 12-month sessions, which are for little ones turning the big O-N-E-.

The Perfect, Timeless Locations for Pictures

Hi, gang! Today's blog post showcases a beautiful family session at an amazing venue called The Clubs at Houston Oaks. Located in Hockley, just about half an hour outside of Houston, this location is one of the most stunning venues I've ever had the honor of shooting at. While this venue is available to photographers only if your clients are members here, I've worked with this family before and this is their go-to spot for family photos. Aside from the countryside feel, rolling hills, manicured golf course, and of course the breathtaking overhanging oaks trees, this location is perfect because it's quiet and serene. You can see the families making memories here and enjoying quality time together, away from work and the pressures of life.

Here are a few of my favorite images from our time together! The tire swing is a super fun and whicmiscal element as little one loved swinging, playing, and just being a precious toddler! This age can be difficult to photograph, though as a professional baby and family portrait photographer, I've learned many tricks to working with young kiddos. Moreover, I do have four tots myself so being a mommy also teaches me much patience. When working with small children, the best trick is to find something they love doing, such as playing with Dad. Not only will the child have fun during the session, the final images will be soft, natural, carefree and evoke a sense of unconditional love between father and son.

The sunset lighting is pure magic here! Sun-kissed and radiant is the perfect timeless accompaniment to beautiful family photos.

I have a popular baby plan membership for clients to consider, but there are also three collections of single sessions such as my mini, petite or full. All collections are a spectacular hybrid model: both heirloom prints and full resolution digital files are included. This in mind, since I streamline my pricing and keep it very transparent, I also would love to showcase a favorite vendor of mine for baby clothing. After all, my job is to make the booking process simple and not cause any stress for new parents.

While this vendor does offer baby girl & newborn outfits, I am showcasing two of the boy options I have on hand. Jack, my little guy, is 4 months old but already is wearing 12-month clothing, oh my goodness! He is even starting to sit up unassisted, father time please slow down! He is 20 pounds and just the sweetest little man alive!

My favorite part of these outfits is how classic, timeless and simple they are. These pieces allow your baby to shine without detracting from their features. To further elaborate, when I look at photos of my precious baby boy, Jack, I just swoon over his smile, sparkling eyes, chubby fingers, and little belly!
