Oh, gosh. Where do I begin with this post? I should probably state how thankful I am that I am able to photograph tiny little newborn babies for a living. It's a blessing. But more than anything, meeting the parents, hearing your story, and documenting this incredibly special time in your life is absolutely humbling! For instance, this family is especially near and dear to me because I adore them in every way possible. Incredibly sweet, generous, and kind! I first met them last November during their pregnancy announcement. The weather was awful, I was 9 months pregnant myself, and yet we still had an amazing session filled with laughs and tons of smiles as we dodged the rain and hovered beneath an awning. 

So, of course when Mom booked her newborn session I was super excited to document these for her! As a photographer, I provide in home newborn photography to Houston families. It's a wonderful way to have a relaxing experience and to ensure both ease and comfort for new mothers and their precious, tiny newborn babies. The nursery is stunning and it was lovely to have a beautiful space to work in.

The custom art of newborn photography is highly specialized and requires an immense amount of safety and skill. I have chosen to specialize in newborn photography because babies fill my heart with such joy. Due to safety and the delicate nature of newborn sessions, the sessions range from 3-4 hours long. Beautiful Newborn Photography in Houston | Natalie's First Photos

Newborns. Sigh. Everything about them makes me melt. As a Houston photographer, I specialize in the custom art of posed newborn portraiture. I've learned that this is what I most enjoy and I delight in working with your precious little babies. I also enjoy documenting your family so it's a wonderful way to preserve this special time in your life. For each session, I come to your home and adorn your baby in stunning custom pieces such as organic wraps, hand made flower crowns or tie backs, antique items such as buckets, bowls, crates, baskets, etc. I sometimes joke that all you, as the parent, must do is grow the baby. Leave the rest to me.

When designing your session, your color and prop preferences are always considered, of course! For this adorable little one named Natalie, her Mama expressed loving the color purple. So, like a good photographer, I made it happen, ha! Lovely different purple hues were used to highlight mom's preferences and ensure she loves the styling. We also utilized a soft heather grey and cream accents to ensure the purple is not too overpowering for the delicate nature of a brand new fresh little baby!

After the session, you're presented with a password protected private online viewing gallery. It holds your top images. You select your favorites and then receive a new gallery to download and enjoy. I also sell a plethora of affordable yet stunning professional products you will absolutely treasure forever! The photos belong on the walls and act as an archival art piece in your home; the professional products ensure your images look perfect and are color matched to perfection.

When it comes to photography and documenting the lives of my little ones, it's best to let them be who they are and embrace the chaos. Motherhood is thrilling, terrifying, ever so joyful and at times a little crazy...and I don't mind one single bit!

If you follow my work or occasionally check into the blog, you may know I have three little girls named Emma, Lucy and Amelia. They're all quite different and have their own personalities though one common trend runs through their DNA: They love to have fun! And as their mama, I adore documenting their childhood. I have three camera bodies often lying around my house, memory card inserted, ready to go so that throughout the day I can capture who they are. These images are my love letters to them. Here are some of our summer shots! I make an appearance in some of these too thanks to the hubby! :p
