The Woodlands & Spring TX Newborn Baby & Family Photographer

 

Well, good morning sunshine! I'm sitting here with a large cup of coffee (aka mommy fuel) and catching up on work details. I like to start my day off with a blog post because it puts a smile on my face to see the beautiful families, children, newborn or baby bumps I capture. That's one of the many enjoyable aspects of photography - celebrating you and your milestones. 

To begin, here is the A family. Not only have I photographed several sessions from them, I know them from high school. 10 years later they're married with two incredibly adorable little ones. For their winter family photos, we met in The Woodlands TX at a little park boasting a rustic bridge and fall foliage. These elements lend a timeless feel to your portraits.

Their outfit color scheme is perfect, too. They're all similar yet different; the goal is to select colors that look well together and then mix them with a variety of layers and textures to ensure cohesion but without everyone looking the exact same. For instance, we would not want everyone to wear a red polo and khakis. Be who you are and wear clothing that represents you.

Aw! The siblings photos are too precious! For toddlers, it's important to not ask too much of them or force them into anything. Big brother loves little sister! When editing these, I kept smiling because I know he's her best friend.

Downtown Houston Skyline Maternity Session + Family Portraits 

Oh, my goodness. I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore this session! As a photographer, it's always fun to try something new. This includes locations. While I normally take my clients to beautiful, sunlit golden fields or rural locations, one of my latest maternity clients inspired me to do an urban session in downtown Houston near Eleanor Tinsley Park. 

I'm super excited to present these portraits to you! I adored meeting their precious son and fur baby! This session, however, also focused on Mom's beautiful belly and the family bonds they share. Locations play a huge part in this. 

At the beginning, we started our session in this lovely little garden. The radiant sunlight cascaded downward through the trees and I *knew* we had to utilize this before the skyline.

After spending some time with Mom's perfect baby bump, we also spent time documenting the entire family. While this is a maternity portrait session, I always encourage the entire family to participate because they're part of your story. I also admit to being completely smitten with their little boy, B. Toddlers are amazing little loves! They're ever so purposeful. This is my absolute favorite age!

During the family portion of any session I document, we keep things simple and laid back. While I do offer direction and ensure the light looks nice, I also take a step back and let things develop naturally. The photo experience should be fun for everyone (especially the kiddos!). A little structure is good but organic images are the best. These melt my heart - this is where those "in between" moments really shine.

Mom and Dad are an adorable couple, aren't they? :-)

Their son, B, had me laughing during this portion. He would run near where I was standing and then he'd race towards his parents. However, he'd tease Mom and instead of hugging her he would hug Dad. Even at two years old he has a sense of humor.

Howdy and happy Friday! Love must be in the air because it's almost Valentines Day and I have an absolutely precious cherub baby to showcase this morning. As a portrait artist, newborns and baby bumps are my favorite subjects to document.
