Good morning! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Today I am looking forward to previewing an absolutely precious little boy named Breck. His session is an on location and natural light child session just in time for his birthday. One year portraits are especially sweet because they're all about celebrating your baby's milestones. However, for this session, Mom also wanted nursing photos too that would honor and preserve the incredibly special bond of mother and child. 

For my time with this handsome hunk of a toddler, we used one of my favorite locations in Northwest Houston. I like this field because the light is essentially perfect! It's golden and gorgeous and everything that makes me happy. Breck is absolutely dashing - so cute with his big grin and adorable little toes. I wanted to take him home with me. He was simply curious and I immesnely enjoyed my time with him. 

I love when parents bring special items to the session, such as this quilt! While I do provide props such as my own quilts or buckets, bowls and crates, it adds a special touch when you bring a sentimental item to the session, such as baby's blanket. 

The light we had that evening is STUNNING. The golden warmth cascades downward and I know this mama will treasure her nursing photos forever.

Good morning on this cloudy Saturday! Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you have not been here before, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sarah, and I am full time Houston Photographer with a succinct focus on pregnancy and maternity portraits, newborn baby photography and outdoor family sessions. I encompass all milestones for Houston families and children, too. This in mind, today's post previews one of my stunning maternity clients! She is also scheduled for a custom newborn session, so I'm pretty excited to see her and her sweet husband in just a few short months.

For our time together, we met early in the morning, right at sunrise. We shot in Cypress Texas at a favorite location of mine. Early morning portraiture sessions are always some of my favorites simply because the light is soft. While evening light is lovely, too, morning sets a different tone. Her stunning gown looks fantastic against the green foilage. In Houston, our weather is warm most of the year (it does get into the 80's during the winter, haha) so her gown reflects her spring due date. 

For all of my maternity sessions, I encourage your spouse to participate. They are a huge part of your story and documenting the love between a couple expecting their first baby is truly extraordinary. Of course, if you have other children, too, they're welcome to participate as well. In that case, it's honestly a family session with emphasis on the baby bump. 

This sweet couple was wonderful to work with. They're kind, relaxed and kept me smiling the entire session. I loved hearing about their daily life, how they met, where they work and some of their favorite hobbies or past times. We chatted about their nursery, where she's delivering, and of course I asked about her sister, who's own maternity and newborn photos I documented. It's the biggest compliment when you refer your family or friends to my professional services. As a small busines owner, word of mouth is a huge part of our work!

One of my favorite aspects to their session are the leaves. Since we live in Houston, we don't really get a true autumn; but the wind was gentle that morning and softly flickered the leaves around them. They gently fell and just added a lovely texture to the rustic wooden bridge.
