Good morning, y’all!
I am beyond thrilled to introduce the “H” family. Now that the holidays are winding down, I can start previewing family sessions. You’ve probably already opened your Christmas/Holiday cards so it’s safe, ha! They’re an awesome family, and I am honored to have had the pleasure of working with them. Mom is a local photographer who does gorgeous work! As you can imagine, the pressure was on, ha!
For this session, I spent time mostly focusing on taking photos of Mom with her precious babies. When you’re a photographer, you’re often the one behind the camera. Sometimes you may even forget about yourself, especially during a busy holiday season. Because of this, I ensured we did several set ups so that Mom can have the same moments she gives to her own clients.
Our session took place in beautiful Cypress, Texas in a grove of fir trees. I like working in natural light because it adds a wonderful nuance to the session – the shadows, the sun, the way the light falls through the trees. However, for this session, it was a bit dark and cloudy. Nevertheless, I love the moodiness of the sky as the sun peeks through.
Some of my favorite details included the color scheme of the outfits. I truly love seeing cream, blue, greys. While most people think red, black, and white for holiday photos, I prefer cooler color schemes because they’re both timeless and have a chic feel to the images. Mom did a wonderful job styling this Cypress, Texas fall family session. The tights, scarves, layers, and boots are wonderful!
Thanks again to the “H” family for having me photograph your 2014 fall family session. I hope to see y’all again next year!
